Life Enrichment at The Glebe

Engaging in life at The Glebe is as simple as walking out your front door and into the Community Center, the hub of our creative and informed community. Touching all the dimensions of wellness, the Community Center provides you with opportunities for physical and mental fitness, spiritual and emotional well-being, and intellectual and social stimulation and interaction, all within a natural mountain environment.

The Community Center is reminiscent of small-town life, encompassing a library, mail center, bank, thrift store, billiards and game rooms, a business center, beauty and barber shop, parlors with stone fireplaces and comfortable sofas for gathering to visit, read, knit or catch up with your neighbors over a cup of coffee.

At the railroad-themed Depot Café, residents enjoy lunch with friends and family while listening to the old popular tunes on the jukebox, and buy simple groceries and sundry supplies, gifts, and greeting cards.

Community life has been proven beneficial for continued health and well-being, and The Glebe abounds in community connectivity, both on-campus and off. Residents of The Glebe exceed the national average in volunteerism, finding outlets to give back through our Assisted Living and Health Care as well as further afield through residents’ churches, community groups, the Botetourt County Christian Free Clinic, and Ronald McDonald House, the valley-wide annual Pack the Bus campaign, and nationally through projects for military service members, and Special Olympics.

Life at The Glebe is further enriched through the quiet serenity enveloping the campus as well as the easy access to off-campus amenities and cultural and historic venues. Come, experience for yourself the richness of life at The Glebe.
